I first fell in love with the ancient art of henna during a class at the Smithsonian. I practiced for at least a year so I could do a simple design for my wedding... and then never stopped.
For me, henna is like life--ephemeral, beautiful, and universal. I can continuously learn about it and never know all there is to know. I can keep it to myself or share it with others. I can use it as an opportunity to connect with someone, to bring some beauty into the world and a smile to someone's face.
Henna is a unifying medium. It's an art, and a lifestyle. It's a statement as individual as the person wearing it.
